21st CENTURY PUNK ROCK VOLUME 2 A documentary film series about punk rock every decade after the turn of the century
LOS ANGELES, CA, August 31st, 2020 - 21st Century Punk Rock Volume 2 is the second full length feature film in the series documenting punk rock every decade after the turn of the century. Volume 1 snapshots the punk rock scene from 2000 – 2010. Volume 2 snapshots the punk rock scene between 2010 – 2020 featuring live performances and interviews of Angelic Upstarts, The Oi! Scouts, Informal Society, Dead 77, Starving Wolves, The Virus, The Unseen, The Bad Engrish, Los Kung Fu Monkeys, Acidez, Corrupted Youth, Resilience, Thulsa Doom, The P.I.N.s, A Global Threat, Evacuate, and special guests including Angela Boatwright (Vans), and Wattie (The Exploited). In this second installment, you’ll see some familiar bands from Volume 1 with a different band name and learn why bands of the 1990s did not appear (or exist) in Volume 1 but appear in Volume 2. The next film in the series will be a documentary about punk rock between 2020 – 2030.
21st Century Punk Rock strives to capture the most prominent punk rock bands and people involved in the punk rock scene between 2010 – 2020 by featuring performances and interviews in a true punk rock style of filming and interviewing. Several of the interviews were featured on The Punk Rock Demonstration radio show. The film shows how punk rock has evolved through the decade and how the people and bands in the scene have also evolved. Presented in the film is also a resurgence of several 1990’s bands that did not survive the 2000’s but come back together after 2010 to reconstruct their band and the reasons behind it. Likewise, bands featured in Volume 1 that broke up in the 2000’s reform to become new bands after 2010 are featured in Volume 2. 21st Century Punk Rock was filmed in and around Los Angeles, California and in Las Vegas, Nevada.

21ST CENTURY PUNK ROCK VOLUME 1
A film about the modern day underground punk scene
LOS ANGELES, CA, June 9th, 2009 - The first independent film to represent the "descendents of the first wave of Los Angeles punk" as Jade Blackmore, a reviewer for "The Slums Off Hollywood Boulevard", puts it. This film is a documentary about punk rock after 2005 filmed in and around Southern California and Nevada. It contains many live performances and interviews ranging from up and coming bands to punk rock legends of today.
The film explains how modern punk rock is today with exclusive interviews of people heavily involved with punk rock including Big Rob (Fatal Riot Manager/Big Rob's Flyers), Ron Martinez (Crawlspace Booking), promoters, bands, and the people who live the punk rock lifestyle. The live performances by the bands depict how the shows are like today. The random shots of activities in and around the punk gatherings show how the punk rock lifestyle is like today. The interviews with the bands and people at the concerts explain how the scene has evolved, the fashions have changed, and the future of punk rock.
The live performances and interviews occur in various places around Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada, but the bands are not limited to the West Coast. The film presents The Krum Bums and The Lower Class Brats from Texas. The Voids, All Out Attak, Defied, and Homesick Abortions from Los Angeles, California. Terezodu, 46 Short, Shattered Faith, and Dick Politic from Orange County, California. Resilience from Santa Rosa, California. The Career Soldiers and Sayaka from San Diego, California. The Casualties from New York. Disaster Us from New Jersey. The interviews also cover even more ground with Robert Price from the Ghouls in Pennsylvania, as well as interviews of the bands in the live performances from around the states.
The main focus of the film is not about the past, but about the present and future of the punk rock genre. This is the first film to present how punk rock is like after the turn of the century and many more are expected to come as the years go on.
